These Sterling Salt Spoon Earrings are stunning! Handmade, Upcycled Sterling Salt Spoon Earrings. I removed the handles of the antique salt spoons and soldered rings onto the top to hold the ear wires (after I flattened the spoon). I made rings to hang in front of the spoons with three fresh water pearls that dangle.
The entire earring is sterling silver (.925) I put a brushed finish on the spoon and shiny hammered finish on the rings that hold the pearls. The earrings hang about 1.5″ from the ear wires.

As a young girl, I made jewelry with seed beads and never forgot the joy in wearing something that was handmade. As an adult, I began metalsmithing but it was only recently that I found out that my grandmother metal smithed on her front porch in Vermont as a young women. I only knew her as a talented oil painter and was excited to “feel” the connection with her once again. It is my love of the past that has me drawn to work with antique sterling silverware. You will find “Spoon-Up-Memories” as an individual section in my shop. It is borrowing from the past, up-cycling well loved sterling silverware into unique jewelry.
Everything in my shop is handmade by me! I use metalwork, Art Clay, up-cycled antique sterling silverware, wire wrap and beaded jewelry in 14K gold filled, brass, copper and sterling silver wire.
You will find one of kind pieces with prices ranging from $15 to $150, come take a look.
